All of life is worship. On Sundays we worship together by singing, reading, and meditating on the Word of God.
We teach expositionally by teaching through one book of the Bible at a time, so we can understand God's teaching in its original context.
Every week we remember the death of Jesus and celebrate his resurrection.
Where Should I Park?
We have spots for visitors, elderly, people with disabilities, and families with infants right out front. We have additional parking just to the West of the church building, at the Kunes dealership. Our friendly greeters can help you find nurseries, restrooms, and coffee.
What Time Do You Start?
Service begins about 10:00 AM, although we normally spend the first few moments getting coffee and greeting one another.
How Long is a Sunday Gathering?
Services are typically around 75 to 85 minutes in length. The teaching time typically lasts about 35-40 minutes and is followed by communion.
Do You Have a Nursery or Kid's Program?
We love children! We offer a Next Generation Kid's program for toddlers through 5th graders during the school year. Children are always welcome to worship alongside families during the corporate church gathering.
Do I Need to Consider Myself a Christian to Attend?
No. Anyone at any stage of his or her spiritual journey is invited and encouraged to attend.
How Can I Get Involved, Meet People, and Build Relationships?
Join a City Group!
Our congregation meets weekly in smaller communities to live Gospel, Community and Mission out in the context of biblical relationships.
How Can I Get To The Vine?
We are located just north of the Beltline, accessible from the Park St. and Fish Hatchery Rd. exits. The metro bus drops off fairly closely to The Vine, and we run a shuttle to/from the University area during the school year.
Am I Expected to Give Money If I Attend?
No. We encourage giving as an act of worship for regular attenders and members, but not for visitors or those who are not Christians. We have an offering box in the back of the auditorium, but the majority of our members give online.
Are You a Charismatic, Traditional, or Contemporary Church?
Depending on your perspective, we could probably answer "no" or "yes" to each of these definitions. Our desire is to be faithful to the scriptures in our practices while also relating to the context of our culture. Above all, our desire is to create an environment conducive to community participation where the attention and focus of our worship is on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
What are The Vine's Affiliations?
We are a full member of the Acts 29
church planting network, a founding church of the Madison Multiply church planting network, and a member of the Gospel Coalition. Each of these organizations have unique statements of belief that are distinct and yet unified in the essentials of Christian faith. Read our formal statement of belief adapted from the Gospel Coalition.
